i just reformatted my hard drive. I needed to get the drivers off the internet becuase i lost my cd. I downlaoded the nvidia chipset drivers. then i went to asus.com and downloaded the realtek audio drivers. The first ones there were some errors when i was extracting them so i downloaded other ones. they extracted fine but when i try to play some kind of sound nothing happens. when i restart my computer the windows shutdown music doesn't play. aim noises aren't working. BUT, i downlaoded winamp (music player) the preview worked just fine. i have an ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE. If someone would has any ideas please let me know. i'm at the point where im just going to buy a sound card.

thanks

Did you install drivers the old fashioned way?

Start -> Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Search for Yellow Items, and then use the INF file.

I would install drivers from Realtek, not from ASUS
