Question audio in diagnostic mode?

Can anyone please PLEASE tell me how to enable audio in diagnostic mode? The reason for this, is that I have recently discovered a huge advantage to playing games in this mode. I can actually reach a constant 40fps in doom 3 on the highest res. which is mind blowing for my computer. Anyway since "diagnostic mode" obviously does not run non-essential startup items like the sound card I am in a pickle. I can't seem to find what to include.... I have an intel intergrated audio device and I can't find that listed in the startup items. Is it in services, system.ini, win.ini .... HELP!!!
