good afternoon

been trying to open a ms-dos application exe file for going on three weeks now. when i click it a black screen flashes on and off
been working with microsoft with this problem for a while and below is the last reply i got from them , guess they got tired fooling with this old man.well anyway when i r-click the file it has no program tab or close on exit box.
if someone has a idea , i sure would appreciate it.

OK. The OS is opening a console window, and running the program. The
program runs and completes in a flash, and the window is closed. More
than likely there's a message in that console window that would tell
you something about what went wrong. So, find the *.exe in Windows
Explorer, and right-click it. Click the "Program" tab, and make sure
there's no check-mark in the "Close on exit" box at the bottom of the
box. Now click "OK" to close the box and double-click the exe to start
it

Have you tried setting compatiblity setting for the program?

Right-click on the specific file, go to the Compatiblity tab, set compatiblity to Windows 98, and run in Full Screen. This makes the program run much faster.

thanks for your reply i sure do appreciate it. yes i have tried to open it in all the compatiblity modes , i have been messing all day trying to open it in the command prompt the full path to the file is C:\Documents and Settings\larry\Desktop\dhauzimmers drivers saitek.
if you could tell me excalty what to type in the command prompt to get to it i would be gratefull.

never have got command promt to bring it up last time i tried (this am) i got cannot find path.
