Default any such thing - Audio Benchmark app?

I just figure I try to look for one, not needing or curious about it.

Reason being...I want to see if one of my old circa 1999 sound cards can work in my new system and Vista. And wondering if there is an app somewhere that can test the onboard audio against the add on.

thankie

As long as the slots are there it would "work". Finding the drivers will be the fun part.

I would assume that modern on board sound is better than the 1999 sound card because the chip is more modern.

oh, nothing wrong with my onboard, and it sounds sweet! intel975xbx

I'm just curious...something to do on the weekend. I'm curious if it will be seen too...but I did manage to get some "updated" drivers for it, lol. This thing is preXp.

it too expensive to make such an app like that. you would nice a flat response mike and an Oscilloscope (5,000 + dolloars). those are expensive. if they can get an computer to mimic an Oscilloscope then it would be a great idea to implement it
