Default agp speeds 4x vs 2x vs 1x

I heard somewhere that games will run faster if u reduce your agp speed to 2x rather than 4x. I havent tested it yet cause 3d mark is 150 mb big and i only ahve 256k(im very impatient). What would the benefits be of lowering the speed and raising the speed. (i dont ahve 8x agp)

...i can't think of any. generally you want the FASTEST data transfer possible. maybe on an older game lowering to 2X will solve glitching/faults in the game. Some games might require 2x and if you run 4x it might screw it all up. (backwards compatibility doesn't ALWAYS work)
