Administrator problem

This morning I on an XP I set up a new user account (self) and made myself as administrator and changed my wife"s to limited use.
Then I rebooted and it went right to my wife's only. Checked my accounts and her's is the only one there.
Now I can't change anything as her account remains limited. ie can't restore to an earlier date or set up another user account. HELP

Stop using XP...

Anyway, I don't know why your other account disappeared, but your computer should still have the built-in administrator account and it's just hidden. I'm pretty sure if you reboot in safe mode, you can log in with the built-in admin account.

Thanks for your reply. However i wasn.t allowed to go into safe mode and didn't have rtecovery disk I was beat again. I did have a win 2000 install disk and used that along with a win 98 disk to make it think it was an upgrade it formatted and installed the win 2000 which for my purposes is fine. It was for an old E maachine. Again thanks for your response. Neil
