administrator account windows xp

i am the only one using my pc, so i am the computer administrator but when i try to install some progs, it tells me that i dont have access to make required system configurations. So i created another administrator account, logged in to that and then logged back into my main account and everything installed fine, but when i restart the comp it goes back to giving me that error when i try to install something. Any way i can fix this or make this easier? thanks

When you logged into your new admin account, it didnt give you that error but when you restarted you got back in which account? New admin or old admin? If you went into the old admin and the new admin worked, delete the old admin account.

change your old accounts account type to administrator instead of limted.
