Active process value changing

I used to have a program that could monitor an active process and detect values in the script as they changed. Once the desired script was targeted, you could edit the programs values as it was running. My old external HD where I had it stored died on me and I don't remember what it was called.

Is the HDD completely dead? If you connected it as an extra hdd or booted into from a PE CD, can you view the files?
