Acrobat Reader reinstallation problem

In a stupid attempt to downgrade to acrobat reader 7.x (i was using ver 8) I accidentally deleted some reader related files, including the .exe, from the 'Program Files\Adobe\ ' folder. I didn't uninstall it.

Now I can't install reader ver 7/8/9. For 7 it is reporting about a file 'C:\WINDOWS\Installer\{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-A81200000003}'
which I think is associated to some earlier Installation. I deleted this file and even then it's complaining during installation.

Version 9 is not getting installed because its looking for some *.msi related to version 8, which is already deleted, and version 8 is giving some vague error message.

I think I was able to clean all registry values related to old installations using the Regtools of CCleaner



I've foxit and pdfxchange viewer, but none of them work as plug-in with firefox, thats why i use acroread. Though foxit works a s plug-in with IE, I'm not a great fan of IE.


Can anyone help me out please to reinstall some version of Adobe reader

I'm using win XP Pro, SP2

See if you can use revo unistaller to uninstall Acrobat even with the missing files.
