Here's a little bit of annoyance I can't get rid of.

Anytime I unplug my network cable from my PC, or reset my router, I get a small icon in the taskbar saying "Acquiring Network Address" however I can connect to the internet just fine.

I have read this problem happening with Wireless cards, however mine is NOT a wireless card.

any thoughts?

assuming that is where your internet is coming from that is normal

you can uncheck that option for it to show up in network connection

yes I understand that...the point is. I have it Unchecked, but it still shows in the tray because it thinks it is trying to connect....however my internet is actually connected.

So, I open up the properties and CHECK it. Hit Ok. Then open it up again to UnCHECK it to hide it from the tray again.

My question is why, when I reconnect my network physically, does windows not know that it is connected? It sits there trying to Acquire a Network address when it is already connected and the internet is working fine.

The only similar thing ive read on the net is that it happens with certain wireless cards, however mine is not wireless, therefore none of those solutions work.
