Account Question

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on my Eee (see sig)

When I turn it on from hibernation, it shows me the Welcome splash, then it asks me which account to log in with, there is only one, but it says "locked" below it. I know a way to unlock it with a program, but is there somewhere in Windows that you can do that?

I read guides online, but they are for other versions, such as Vista or XP.

Don't think there's any normal way without 3rd party or tweaks to change that. It automatically "locks" when you hibernate or sleep, no matter if you have a pass or not.

I mean that even if I log out while still on, it's still locked.

Hmm maybe it's your OS or something , that's weird. If you log out, it suppose to bring you back to the main screen with just the users, unless you mean "Switch User"?

Check your power options to make sure that you have it set so it doesnt lock the PC when you close the lid.

The one for Vista should be exactly the same. Microsoft didnt change the functionality of Win7 from Vista.

Don't require a password
When your computer wakes from sleep, anyone can access your data because the computer isn't locked.

Is that under the power options or under the screen saver options? What plan do you have it set for? Balanced or what?
