Default Access Denied

I have a hard drive that carries the OS files, and it's in another computer right now. I'm trying to access the My Documents folder in that hard drive, and it's denying me access. I don't have the motherboard that was installed with this hard drive either. So are there any tools or tricks, that can grant me access to this folder?

Thanks

what OS was it? i'm guessing windows vista. i haven't used vista that much but i think there are inbuilt encryption tools that you may have accidentally turned on.

Have you tried taking owernship of the files? Boot into safe mode as the administrator, then right click on the drive and/or specific folder (ie My Documents) > properties > security tab.

Carnage is right. Have to take ownership of the files.

How to take ownership of a file or folder in Windows XP
