ok well i am getting a 64 bit proccessor soon, and i need to know a lil about 64 bit os. What ones are there? Are they free? Does micrsoft have 1 or coming out soon? Thanks.

Microsoft has WindowsXP 64bit but its not released yet (as far as I know) but there are some beta-versions I think

And ofcourse there is Windows Server 2003 64bit

what bout linux, i know they have 64. And i head about longhorn, what is that?

Longhorn is the newest windows out there..it also has a 64bit version, but i'm not sure there has been a test-version released.

Longhorn XP comes with a new files-system Win-FS!!

Longhorn I think is another new version of Windows that will be released sometime in in mid 2006. Also something about Windows Blackcomb will be released in 2007 or 2008....I think I got the two mixed up lol.

They actually cancelled that because it was going to push the release date into 2007 and on top of that they will be letting you download everything else that was supposed to be cool about longhorn. So there is nothing left to make longhorn cool except that you can have a 64 bit os over your upgraded xp with all of the benefits of longhorn. Mircrosoft rules.
