Default 2200+xp win98 compliant ?

Hey guys, just have a friend which wants to upgrade to a 2200+xp athlon.

I am curious however, can his current os (microsoft windows 98 4.10, Build 1998) support this processor ? or is there an update needed, or am i a total dumbass for asking this?

Ive suggested a bios update which will atleast let his mobo accept this cpu.

Hell, just run Windows 1.0 or DOS on that thing - as mentioned, OS doesn't really matter.

512 MB is the max. RAM you can have under Win98/ME, so be sure to check that as well.
