will this run...?

i'm thinking of building a laptop w/ an intel dual core 2.0 ghz, 2 gigs of ram, and an 8600M GT 256 mb. it's in my budget exactly so i really can't spend any more. my question is:
will it run older games (BF2, half life 2, or Wow) at max settings and still have a decent fps? also, how long do you think this setup will last in the future w/ more and more games coming out w/ higher and higher system requirements?

It should run those games rather decently, I know wow will work at maximum settings fine. The other games, I am unsure of.

it mite just scrape COD4 on medium, it runs fine on the system in my sig

8600M GT is currently second place for the best graphics card you can get in a laptop, so it shouldn't have a problem running those games you listed. 8700M GT is available, but rarely found in notebooks. 8800M GT/X is coming out sometime soon if it isn't out already (I just know of no laptops that are equipped with it).

I have the 8600M, and it runs the fear demos very well, little lag at all untill the HDD is being accessed...
