Will replacing the Hard Drive solve my problem?

Hey everyone,

A few days ago I spilled some water on my Dell Latitude D610 laptop. I dried the exterior off the best I could, and tried to power it on. It would turn on for about 7 seconds, then power back off. I put it in a bag of rice for about 48 hours, then tried to power it again. This time it didn't shut down, but it took a lot longer than usual to power up. About two Lord of the Rings extended editions later, it finally booted up. (Not really. It took about 10 minutes, though.:)) Anyway, an error message came up. It read:

"No bootable device-strike F1 to try again"

I read that if a computer says that, then the hard-drive crashed.
If I replace the hard-drive, then will my computer work properly again? Or did I ruin it for good when I turned it on without drying the inside of it?

Thanks for reading!!

You could try but I would lay odds that your motherboard is toast.

I agree, it's most likely toast. I would forego buying a new hard drive to test in this guy, unless you plan on using it for a future laptop (if you get one free however, you can do what you will).
