Hello, everyone!! I've recently been having some problems, and I've been wondering if some one can give me some good advice that will (hopefully) fix my problems for good.
My laptop has been skipping quite often. While playing games, while typing, and while pretty much doing basically anything. It will play sounds perfectly, but will skip about every second, play regularly, then skip again.
It's kind of like some one is pulling back on a turntable for a split second...repeatedly.
I also have problems when I am trying to type. All of a sudden, when I am in the middle of typing something, it sort of auto moves to where my mouse is. It happens pretty frequently, resulting in myself typing in the middle of something completely different and forcing me to delete what I typed previously, move my mouse further ahead of what I'm typing, and continue.
The problems have persisted for the last couple of months, and it's to the point where it is driving me a little crazy, haha. If anyone could help, I'd very much so appreciate every second of your time.
To whoever might see this and help me out, thank you in advance.

Also, my computer skips when I am extracting files. It pauses, quickly fills in the status bar, pauses, then fills again. Can anyone solve this? Or should I call Sherlock? ;)

No, call Mr T

Anyway, what is your specs on the laptop? Or the model?

Try running HW Monitor. This may be a overheating problem.

Also, you might want to run memtest. You might be freezing because you are using all of your RAM up.

(use the edit button next time :))

Oh!! Haha, I had no idea the edit button was right there. Gotcha.
Anyway, I've tried memtests, and nothing was found to be wrong.
I've also checked with RMClock and the temperatures have never gone over the medium(about 50-60).
My computer is very clean for the most part(internally, externally, and cybernetically).
I scan and clean it every day with Advanced System Optimizer 3, and I've run AV scans on it multiple times.

Here are my PC Specs.

Microsoft Windows XP Professional Integrated SP3
Dell Latitude D420
Phoenix ROM Bios Plus Version 1.10 A06
Genuine Intel CPU U2500 @ 1.2ghz (2 CPUs)
1.5 GB RAM
3281 Available Page File
DirectX 9.0c

Here is the HijackThis log.
