While watching videos online my laptop screen freezes and the sound of the video goes into slow mode

Hey,

Whenever I am watching videos online on my laptop (Sony Vaio VPCEC2S0E) the screen freezes. I can still hear the video although the sound has slowed down so much. At 1st i though perhaps it was because my laptop was overheating so I bought a cooling fan for it but the problem still persists.

would be very grateful if anyone could assist me with this.

Get HWMonitor, and have it open while you are playing the video. See what temps you get on you CPU or GFX.

What cooling fan did you buy?

I'm getting roughly 50-60 degrees on them, and i bought the cooler master notepal U2

It is a 17" laptop too

yea just checked everything, it all seems to be up to date

How much RAM do you have? and when watching videos, does it eat up the RAM?

Also, does your CPU reach 100% usage?

Edit: Can find all this in Task Manager

6gb of ram and i'm sure it has reached 100% when its loading to many things but i wouldnt say its at 100% when it freezes
