What should a laptop's temperature be on average? and other questions

It's in the title!

In SiSoftware it says my laptop has 8 usb controllers. What does that mean? Does it mean I have 8 usb ports? Because there only 4 available. Same goes for Firewire. What is so special about Firewire?

Is there such thing as an external video card because SiSoftware suggests I should use one. If so where do they attach to? And it also says I have a few Pcie slots available. Please Help I am very confused.

Not really. EVGA makes a usb extension card.. But I think sisoftwares confused.

The closest thingsa re usb extensions, which basically just let you hook up an external monitor, nothing else. Nobody has actually send a usb video card solution to market, although some companies had plans to a few years ago.

Again, I think Sisoftware is confused, as it can be by some laptops. USB controllers mean just that, usb controllers. It doesn't necessarily have any direct relation to how many ports you have. One controller can control 2-4 ports or possibly even more.
