Default what is available for cdrom tray laptop

I want to remove the non working cdrom from my laptop hp pavilion dv6000

what is available instead of a cdrom to be used in that spot

battery
card reader
extra ssd hard drive maybe?

They make adapters for SSD's to be put in there, as long as the interface for your disc drive is SATA.

Something like this:

what about a battery?

are all laptops compatible with slim case battery
I was looking through some but im not sure they are compatible

Any battery that would fit in there would have to be a soft pack, like your cell phone, and likely wouldnt be very long lasting or safe due to the size restrictions.

I would use it for a SATA SSD.
