Totally not true. While it does not get MANY viruses, it still is wide open. They had one a few months ago.
Same for Linux. It does not get many, but it still can.

Like mind said no computer is safe from malware, trojan or virus infections.
Yes both mac and linux have semi low rate of catching something but it's still possible from any source, you don't even have to be on the internet and you might borrow a friends thumb drive.
As soon as the pc accesses it here comes trouble, just be on the safe side and have AV handy just in case something does happen with a firewall.
