Hey everyone,

A couple days ago, my laptop restarted out of nowhere and I wasn't around, but heard it restart. When I finally saw, I noticed that it restarts when I'm suppose to log in. This blue screen pops up for about a second, and then it restarts.

From what I can tell, it's the same screen that appeared when I had to update my video card driver on my old computer with XP. (I guess Vista just restarts however, without allowing you to read the screen).

Anyway, I've looked into an updated driver, and I have the most recent one. I even tried an old one, but still no go.

So, I'm running in Safe Mode, and I have no audio, and I don't know what to do.

I can give more information if it is needed, and any help would be great.

Thanks

Looking at my laptop manufacture's web site, it's a Intel 940/943/945 Video Driver (32-bit)

I updated the driver off of their site, so I assume that it uninstalled the older version automatically. I installed the update over a year ago, so I'm not sure if that would be it.

Is a clean windows install the same as reformatting?

I'm trying to avoid that, so I don't lose anything.

If not, I'm not sure how to do a clean windows install.

Get the latest set of drivers from their site. Also post up specs of your laptop.
