I have a new laptop and am wondering how to connect it to an older tv, that has on the rca inputs. i have an hdmi port and that works fine with newer tvs. is there an adapter or a converter that i can get?

VGA to RCA would be easier. RCA/VGA is analog, HDMI is digital.

you'd have to get a converter box which is probably worth more than the tv if it's only got RCA ports.

yeah going from vga to rca is fine because it's analog to analog. going from hdmi to vga or hdmi to rca is more complicated.
