I've got an old Esystem 3085 G335 laptop which runs a Celeron M410 CPU [1.46Ghz]. I can't seem to discover the make of the motherboard but was wondering if I could get away with putting a P4 in it?

The manual says:
Processor
Yohan with Dual core/L2 cache = 2Mb on die, FSB = 667Mhz
Yohan with Single core/L2 cache = 2Mb on die, FSB = 667Mhz
Meron with 64 bits Dual core/L2 cache = 2 and 4Mb on die, FSB = 667Mhz
Yohan with Celeron M/L2 cache = 1Mb on die, FSB = 533Mhz

Unsure of the details of the P4 but think it's about 2.8Ghz.
Would even just replacing it with the P4 do any permanent damage?

Also, the WLAN adpater and the LAN adapter both bring up BSODs when enabled so I was thinking about just getting a USB adapter to network it. Theoretically would this work?

Thanks

Okay, thanks for that.
Had a feeling the CPU wouldn't be compatible, Socket 478 to Socket 479.

Time to find USB adapter now.
