We ordered 5 of them for emergency preparedness. They say they can handle up to 2000 pounds each, we thought about putting 1 under each tire of our tahoe to test the theory. We decided it was in our best interest to keep our jobs instead I will say, they are rugged as heck and really really heavy.
I have sold a few panasonic tough books. I got a few out to mining sites. I got one doctors office that is always ordering from me as most of the staff just go around treating the laptops like rubbish.
A shot with the 1911 from 15 yards took the Toughbook down. To be sure it didn't stagger back up, we followed up with a .44 magnum revolver and a solid lead slug from a 12-gauge shotgun. Then we packed up the Toughbook and sent it back to Panasonic
They are going to get a lovely surprise . I didn't think those things were that tough, surviving being stepped on by a elephant is pretty crazy for something that can be damaged by dropping it from 3 feet otherwise.
What I am interested in is the diet soda and the Doritos test that they did....
Now that is a household problem. Idiots touching my laptop with dirty fingers and drinking stuff while using it...
My favorite laptop died because it drowned in beer and soda and it wasn't me who did it.
Also I imagine this is great for those middle eastern countries that get sand in EVERYTHING.
