Question Toshiba laptop running slowly

my mom has a toshiba laptop and the specs are:
it's a toshiba sattellite 1 series and
proc: centrino duo t2250 @ 1.7GHZ
RAM: 2.0GB
XP media center

dont know other specs but, this thing is very slow slower than my pentium D rig sometimes it locks up and i have to reset it and nothing else works this thing takes like 2-3 min booting up windows, but there are not many things loading at start up excecpt for norton anti virus. and running xp there are only about 46 process running, which i think thats a little high but it's a laptop, so i was wondering if thats normal or if there is something i can do to speed it up a little

The only thing ATi can render faster than nVidia is the BSOD

Go to the Virus area and run Osiris's guide to spyware removal on it.

Post your HiJack this log in the analyze area...

Someone will be along to analyze it and let you know what steps to take.

I do not accept support questions via EMail, PM, IM or my G+ page!

Phone: LG Optimus G Pro
Running: Stock JB from LG with Nova Launcher

Try run a defrag and stop some startup processes (Start>Run>Msconfig>Statup Tab> Disable everything but you anti virus and anything else you want to start on startup)

Also run ccleaner: Download CCleaner 2.07.575 -

and maybe try this tool that i use (30 day trial): TuneUp America - TuneUp Utilities 2008
Back to stay?
