Sony Vaio won't turn on

This post is on behalf of my dad who has one of these:

Model: tz vgn-tz37gn/b

Anyway the problem with it is that it won't turn on. When you press the power on button on the side of the device it just flashes but the system doesn't power up. This is true when the charge cable is un plugged and plugged in. When it's plugged in it says that the battery is charging on the front of the device but that's about all it does right now. It was working fine yesterday until this morning.

Did you try to remove just the battery and leave the laptop plugged into the wall to see if it is a failure with the battery?

Yeah tried it with the charger in and without the battery

Is it still under warranty?

Perhaps the power adapter / PSU is faulty.

When thebpower cable is plugged into the main it's illuminated which pretty much indicates it's working and that there is power going through it, it's still under warraty too.

Get it sent for repair under warranty.
