Sony Vaio Video Driver Update Issue

Hey guys for some reason when I install the latest nvidia driver on my sony vaio with a nvidia 310m, it comes up with an error saying it doesn't recognize the product on my laptop. I did some research and saw that I had to edit the INF file but I have no ideas where to start, has anyone came across this before?

Don't use the latest update? Use an earlier version.

I heard its always good to use the most updated one though? My current one is really really old ><

If the latest driver is giving you problems, it is a good idea to use an older driver version.
