Default Sony VAIO VGN-FZ340E/B

My dad bought his first laptop/computer to use 1-2 weeks ago. He is in China right now using to watch movies. Is this a good price and the correct laptop for him?

Buy the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ340E/B 15.4" Widescreen Laptop and other Laptop computers at circuitcity.com

If your dad is just using the laptop to watch dvd's he does not need one that powerful. This $425 dell vostro with 1gb of ram and minimum specs for everything else will be fine for movies, internet, and office.

The price seems good for a Sony. He may have over bought but this is also a laptop he can use for like 6 years and it'll hold up well, so as long as he's happy.
Xbrite screens are sweet, too.

Yeah ill just add my voice to echo the praise to the Xbrite screen, they really are amazing, i have a sony vgn-Fz180E a recently discontinued model (too high cost to produce) with a blue ray and it makes movies come alive! its better than watching it on a regular hdtv.

Yeah. I have the VGN-FZ180E/B. It costs me 1,800 from circuit city. The original price was like 2000. I love the screen, it is so clear.
