Hi,

I am thinking about buying an Alienware m9750 laptop, but am not to happy about adding $700 to the price just to get an Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 2.33GHz Processor. I thought that I would just buy the processor from Newegg and put it in myself. However, the one at Newegg is also near $700. That's actually ridiculous, unless I am missing something. There is Socket M and Socket P Core 2 Duo's. What is the difference, besides where they can fit, that causes the price for the Socket M one's to be double that of the Socket P one's?

Here is an example of what I am talking about:

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

The Socket P one is much better in every way, and is two times cheaper. Can someone tell me why this is, because I don't see any reason for this price. Also the processors in the m9750 laptops, they are Socket M I'm guessing?

Thanks
