Amazon sells a basics USB dongle for about 15 bucks.

It is only for 2.4 GHz

If You want to get dual band, ie 2.4G & 5G, ie to be able to detect and connect to a 5Ghz network, you will need to have the CBT RTL8821AE or the LTN RTL8821AE wireless card.

so you are saying that a usb wifi dongle will not let me connect at 5ghz?

thanks guys, i will have to have a small one though. all of my usb ports are on the side, and my dog likes to lay between me and the arms of my recliner. i am sure she would bust off an antenna. besides, i am like 12 feet from the router. so i dont think i will need an antenna for that distance.
