Default Samsung M5 or M6 HDD for Laptop?

Why can I not find any Samsung Spinpoint M6's for laptops? All I can come up with is M5's all over the place. Are the M6's just bigger in capacity? I'm thinking of swapping my current 80GB Hitatchi for a 160 GB Samsung.

The 320 is probably a dual platter format, right? I assume it is less power efficient compared to the 160 i was looking at.

Yes, 160gb per platter. The power requirements and power consumption specs for the M6 320gb and the M5 160gb drives are identical.

How about performance? Does the M6 have any new tech. that justifies upgrading from the M5?
