Rocketfish AC adapter not charging Battery

Hey all, I just bought a Rocketfish AC adapter for my HP G71-351CA Laptop.

It powers the laptop, but does not charge the battery, now I know Dell has smart chips in their batteries to make sure that u only use a Dell AC adapter (LAME!!)
And it's quite possible that HP has done the same thing, my question is "Does anyone know of any software to trick the battery into accepting a charge from the rocketfish adapter, the battery is brand new, so there is no issue with it possibly being dead.

Any Ideas? let me know

Inside the DELL AC Power Adapter - A mystery revealed | The Laptop Junction

It looks like its a BIOS / Hardware thing so it may be hard to come up with a work around. You did get me curious though to see what kind of solutions that people can come up with.
