Default Places to purchase a laptop

I have $500 give or take a few bucks I want to spend on a new/somewhat used/refurbished laptop. I was just wondering whats a good website that would sell laptops in this range and offers refurbished, used, or new laptops?

I would prefer a refurbished over anything else just because I know I have a better chance of getting a good deal.

Thanks

Tigerdirect

Link:
Laptops, Laptop Computers, Notebooks, Notebook Computers, Notebook PC, Cheap Laptops TigerDirect.com

They have alot of refurbs

With 500 you could check at Circut City, Best Buy or any electronic type stores and pick up a brand new one on sale within your price range.
Might give Dell a look also.

Nice, I heard that gateways aren't that great. There seems to be lots of problems with them according to other forums. I know Dell is good but I don't really like the style of laptops that they have.

So besides gateway and dell what are some good brands of computers that aren't crazy expensive?

I was thinking of acer, sony vaio, toshiba, or something along those.
