if so this laptop has 512mb and its saying im useing over 600mb? is there something wrong here?

Pagefile is like the swap file, reserved space on your hard disk for windows to utilize for certain tasks and also for the memory dump. Read up on it here:

Pagefiles can be setup to use up to 4GB of space. It is not solely dependent on the amount of RAM you have.
