my brother has an Asus U50V laptop and was wondering if he can overclock his processor

laptops are going to have a locked bios. Not to mention cooling would be a huge issue with a laptop.

Depending on the laptop, you can unlock them fairly easily. I know there are some high-dollar laptops that are already OCed out of the factory, but locked there. However, I advise you to not try. As Hef said, you would be struggling to cool that thing.

Your only option is to purchase a faster processor in the first place on a laptop
