Older HP laptop - bad usb ports

I was wondering how easy/hard it would be to replace usb ports on the motherboard of an old HP laptop. Assuming i know how to solder and i have replacement usb ports. I really have no use for the thing if it doesnt have usb ports since it already has a cracked screen. I was going to hook it up to my kids tv with an external drive so they can watch their shows. =) Thanks for any help/suggestions !

I never replace those. You should be able to do it with a solder gun.

It seems simple enough i mean its a small component. If I botch it up I mean I wont care too much but I think i could do it.
