get this one instead....

Newegg.com - TOSHIBA Satellite L305-S5921 NoteBook Intel Pentium dual-core T3400(2.16GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 2GB Memory DDR2 800 160GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi Intel GMA 4500M - Laptops / Notebooks

acer driver support sucks. better to poney up the money for a dual core than to upgrade later.

Is that Acer from microcenter?

I own an Acer 5130 aspire. that came with a 1.8 celeron and 512mb memory. it ran fan when i upgraded the memory to 2GB.

Then I upgraded my CPU to a Dual core T7100 dual 1.8ghz. There was a huge panel to access the cpu, but it took research to find the right one.

Save yourself the trouble and get the dual core from the start.

It's definitely worth the $100 to go with the above laptop if you can spare it, honestly. Toshiba is going to have a better product, better support, and it's a more powerful machine by far.
