New Laptop £500 - £600

Hello, I have been looking at a few laptops in this price range, i.e the samsung R540 15.6" which ahs core i3 2.2Ghz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HD etc and this was comign in at £570. I thougt this was good then read a couple of reviews saying battery life was around the two hour mark which I thought was rather well.. poor. From experiences can anyone recomend a good solid machine with similar specs to this? However something a little smaller would be an added bonus?

If you like Samsung, you could get this:

Battery life descriptions are overrated. My netbook claimed to have 5 hours of battery life. I never saw more than 2.5.
