Need a new laptop please help

Looking to spend as little as possible for 2 laptops same specs. Here is sorta what I want the rest I need help with please help me out first time not buying from dell

Intel i5 processor or similar
6GB memory - a little more or less is ok
500GB HD

Is there a company you are partial to? Or you just do not want a "mainstream" brand and would prefer an Asus or MSI or Acer etc. branded laptop?
