I have a 4 year old HP laptop. It basically is only good for programming, writing papers, and surfing the internet, and even then its really slow. It has trouble charging, the battery drains in about and hour, it won't connect to wireless networks, and the thing gets hot enough to burn your lap. I won't even use it in class because the fans spin really fast and loud. So its time for something new. I am an IT student and I need something reliable, and hopefully something that can play games (at least in low settings) that doesn't weight 20lbs as I carry it around everywhere.
I am wanting to spend around $800 but am willing to go to $1000 if needed, and something with a 15 inchish display, 17 inch is too big. I have looked at the major brands (Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc. . .) are ASUS, ACER, MSI etc . . . good brands? And what is your opinion of a Mac Book?
