Need help with sony vaio hardrive!!!!

Hello everyone,Im new here and need some help with my Sony Vaio. My vaio is a model vgn-fe55og and the hardrive wont spin. The hard drive and ram are both brand new and i replaced both with the originals but still had no luck. When i press the power button the hard drive light comes on for like 7 seconds before going out again. The screen also will not turn on but i have an external monitor so i suppose its okay just not convient. Any suggestions on what needs replaced? Thanks in advance for your help

Does it show up in BIOS? The screen not turning on can be many things.

Well the hard drive wont spin so i want to get that problem solved first and when i plug in the external it just goes to sleep.

No, I mean, in BIOS, does it detect it at all? It could be bad, but BIOS could still see it.

sorry for the late reply as i have been busy. anyways no bios doesnt detect it something is stopping it from booting i think but i dont know what. the harddrive is fine though. it just turns on but doesnt boot

If BIOS is not detecting it, it isn't "fine". During POST, does it list it as an active drive?
