Default need to find a laptop for a friend

So my best friend is looking to buy a new laptop for around $700 and not above $800. I don't really know a whole lot about laptops so some suggestions would be nice.

The most gaming he would be doing is like Command and Conquer. But he would definitely like the ability to be able to play that well.

Which C&C? It could be Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 or it could be Tiberium Wars and Red Alert 3. Quite the difference in requirements.

Newegg.com - ASUS N80 Series N80Vn-X1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T5800(2.00GHz) 14.1" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9650M GT - Laptops / Notebooks

Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS6930-6560 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T5800(2.00GHz) 16" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 320GB HDD DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GS - Laptops / Notebooks

The ASUS is $100 more than your friend's price mark.

That acer looks like a possibility. How about this Asus? Oh and I took a quote from one of the reviews that I thought was hilarious

Newegg.com - ASUS M51 Series M51Ta-X1 NoteBook AMD Turion 64 X2 RM-70(2.00GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 3GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 - Laptops / Notebooks

Quote:
It has an actual video card. HDMI. Quick disconnect VGA. 2.0GHz Dual Core. This machine is capable of running CRYSIS on Medium 16xAA 1280x800 with about 70FPS
Can you also give me some suggestions for some laptops which are more focused on mobility but still decent performance. I want to present him with some options
