So I caved a few weeks ago and got a new lappy 
I don't use it for gaming, mostly just media and internet when I travel.
Satellite L675D-S7012
It has a nice 17.3" screen
4GB DDR3
AMD Athlon dual core P320
320GB HDD
So far the only downfall is the battery life. If I am using it nonstop the battery may last 3 hours tops. The speakers are so-so. Otherwise it's fantastic. The screen resolution is very crisp and clear. It runs a ATI 4200 GPU chipset.
Hopefully this Sateelite will last as long as my last one did. That one lasted 4 years.
