My laptop wants start up on AC power supply only

Hi all. This is my first post on the forum.

I have 3 years old laptop Acer Aspire 5920G and it can start up on AC power suplly connected only. It does not want to start up on battery mode. As soon as I start up laptop with AC power supply connected I can disconnect power supply and my laptop runs fine for more than hour and half on battery mode. When I chose to restart or hibernate it can not turns on again on battery mode. It looks like I choose to shut down. I have another 5 years Asus laptop which battery lasts for 3 minutes only but it can starts up normally on battery mode.
My operating system is Win 7 32-bit.

Any help!!!

Sounds like your battery is bad. Try getting a new one. I bought several on eBay. I bought it from one that says 3 year warranty. Never had a problem.

Many thanks for your opinion. But it is still strange for me that my Asus which battery lasts couple of minutes only can start up on this battery without problem. I have no possibility to try my battery on another Acer Aspire.
