Default My laptop screen keeps on darkening/flickering at random

My laptop screen (Windows XP, Japanese version) keeps on darkening, and flickering at random, sometimes for a long time. I think it is related to the console battery, but am not sure:freak:. Any advice?

It could also be your video driver. I would try to update it and see what happens from there.

How olds the laptop? It could be the inverter, i.e the thing that provides power to the backlight display.

IMO, inverter or the actual lights them selfs are going out... Most likely inverter as that is what happens when they are dieing.

i have to echo the other guys, sounds like an inverter/CCFL problem to me. it's pretty common and presents just like you describe. it could be bad/loose connections or it could be that either the inverter or CCFL is dying.
