Looks fine to me, the Core i7 can easily take 70C, it may be a bit hot but it isn't in danger or anything like that. I wouldn't try to push it any further though, 70C isn't bad but it is the upper safe range, once you start getting 75+ I would start worrying or adjusting things.

Then again this is a laptop? Laptop CPU's usually run hotter than their desktop counterparts (my desktop i7 930 runs ~70C with the stock heatsink and fan). I'd say you're safe, but if you want to be extra sure get a cooling pad, they do make a difference. On my laptop I've found that propping up the back end a half inch or so helps too, many laptops have bottom fan intakes that get blocked easily and are ineffective unless the laptop is propped up.

yes its a laptop, thanks very much, typically i have found laptops to run a bit hot, but my laptop has a killer fan/heatsink combo, i put new thermal compound on it about 2 months ago, it shoulda set by now, so i assume this is were its going to end up idling. Nothing much else i can do, im in iraq, so i frequently, biweekly airduster the vents/fan/motherboard. Thanks for your input i appreciate it.

You are fine. Laptops are meant to be hot, as cooling is not as adequate as desktops.

If youre in a hot enviroment, then... Yes those are probably the best you'll get.

Try running it with the back end tipped up so that the exhaust vents are more exposed. It should help bring the temp down a bit more.
