Default Mouse randomly moves on Inspiron

OK, I don't know the model number because it isn't mine, but it's a Dell Inspiron. The mouse pointer will move on its own. Even an external mouse does this. I've never seen this before. I suggested maybe she needs an upgrade in the drivers, but I'm not sure even that would have any effect. It isn't here with me but she's supposed to be sending it up here. Any suggestions?

Change the world. Of one person. Today.

If your equation requires either a complex combination of variables to get the desired result OR you can't seem to get the result regardless of the ain't your variables, it's your constant.

Check the mousepad connection to the motherboard.

My computer uses 1.5A-load, .8A-idle, .65A-standby, .05A-turned off on 125V.
