how is the intel atom processor?

For word doc, internet browsing, and watching some movies i think it will do well.

The big plus is its only 2 lbs!!

i already have an old toshiba labtop that works fine but its very heavy. I want to have a smaller, lighter labtop for carry on.

And inputs on the intel atom cpu?

The Atom should be fine for what you intend on doing. If you plan on using it on battery power allot I recommend getting the 160gb aspire 1 which has a 6 cell battery instead of the three cell in the model you linked.

Maybe this is a special kind of computer that actually sits on top of a laboratory. I bet you can even run Windows XT on it.
