Default memory in graphics card?

256mb? 64mb? 512 mb? for a casual gamer who doesn't want to run the newest games and the highest settings (more like BF2, Half life 2, WoW), does the memory really matter in a laptop video card? would a 8400m gs 64mb be enough to play those games at high settings?

for games like hl2, you should at least have 128.

the 8400gm 64mb will not play any games aside from quake 2...possibly quake 3 at very high settings

You shouldn't be just looking at the RAM alone. For example, there are some 128MB cards that play games like Halo PC, HL2, and Doom 3 beautifully, while others still fall short.

If you want a good recommendation, I'd say the x1900 series from ATI, or if you're a GeForce customer, the 7800 or 7900 series. They've fallen in price considerably and will still last you a good while.
